You all know the tale.
Star-crossed lovers meet; all they want is what they cannot have: each other. It's a story as old as time - or is it? The headstrong Romero of the house of Montague holds nothing but contempt for the cowardly DeCapulets. Until, that is, he meets Juliet. Beautiful; deadly; her skill with a bow is matched by no other, and she fires an arrow straight through young Romero's heart. Torn between their warring families and trapped by the waves of the undead crashing against the city walls, what chance do our young couple stand at having a future together? You thought you knew the story of Romeo and Juliet? Think again in this satirical retelling of one of the world's most well-known love stories. Containing love, gore, and sarcasm, it's a story suitable for teens upwards, and should be enjoyed by adults 'of all ages' |
Unspecified age, I'd say Teen and up

First, three things: 1. I love Romeo and Juliet 2. I love zombies 3. I love audiobooks! Great for a mom with a baby! So, as you can see, this audio book was pretty much made just for me, regardless of the fact that I had never even heard of this author before now. And it was AWESOME! Much better action than the original, seeing as how zombies are getting shot, chopped, and diced this time. Still felt like Romero and Juliet fell awfully hard and fast, but hey, that's how the original goes, right? The ending! The final death scene! WOO! The only drawbacks I found were that occasionally the narrator seemed to hit my ears just a little wrong with regards to tempo and emphasis, but it was barely noticeable, really, and that is was FAR too short! I could have listened to this for hours! Very well done, in my opinion, I am glad to have been selected to check it out! Bob says: 5 Platypires and my first 2016 Favorite Audible! |
