Dude. DUDE. HOLY FLUFFIN' AMAZEBALLS! I have had this book on my Kindle for quite a while, having purchased it after someone else from the blog I work for took it for review. It looked really good, but I just didn't have time to take it for myself, and so purchased it for later. WHY? WHY did I do such a ridiculous thing?! This book, y'all. I am freaking in love with it!
I'm madly in love Tie, just an FYI. This story and these characters are perfect. I want Ang to be my best friend, I want Hope's dad to be my dad, and I want Hope to be my much younger sister, since I'm an old fart. I also want gorgeous Japanese gods to swoon and fight over me. Sigh. Everything just came together so well, I was completely enraptured! I sobbed when a certain background character had a certain thing happen, which surprised me. This person wasn't a main focus or anything, and yet s/he was so well written that it broke my heart. Shortly after that happened, something else happened that caused me to cry so incredibly hard that I could no longer see my kindle screen, and had to turn on the read to me feature to continue. Because I was NOT willing to stay away from the book at that point. And oh, you sneaky, sneaky, EVIL author! I love you now. And I will be buying book 2 tomorrow, aka payday lol. In case this incredible author is one who likes to read her reviews: Hi there! I’m Bob, from Platypire Reviews. You may be my current favorite, THANK YOU. ALSO! Bonus points for Diversity, y’all! Bob says: 5 big huge giant Platypires, and DEFINITELY on my favorites list for this year! |
