As far as the characters, wow. Anna Wei was a great female lead. She was strong, tough, and determined. It was easy to like her and the other members of her team, including Ilya, Ben, Roy and Hess. Something else that I found to be interesting was the fact that in this book, the government not only knows about magic, but utilizes it, with different branches being under different categories that they normally use. Definitely a switch from what I'm used to in this particular genre. I'll also say I even thought Ethan was sympathetic to some extent. I also loved Ayham. He was probably my favorite secondary character.
Definitely loved this book. All I want to say now to J Hamlet is “Hurry up with volume 2, I want to read more about Anna and everyone else!”
Highly recommended to those who enjoy urban fantasy, and a rating of 5/5 platypires.
