Fate and the whole school have other ideas, and the two find themselves cast as the unwilling stars of a bizarre romantic comedy duo. Rather than bow to the inevitable, Risa and Atsushi join forces to pursue their true objects of affection. But in the quest for love, will their budding friendship become something more complex?
Review
Anyway, I read it... well, more like devoured it. This series was fantastic! Aya Nakahara is so incredibly expressive with her characters that there were many times I forgot I was actually reading. I loved it so much and I plan on reading it about a million thousand more times.
The thing about this series is I can relate so hard to Risa Koizumi. She is ridiculously awkward and way too naive. Plus I had major hots for a guy shorter than me as well... and married him. But I absolutely understood the awkwardness of it all. It's hard to find love stories I relate to, so it pleases me when I can feel that sort of connection to them.
Finding out more background history between Koizumi and Otani was my favorite part about the whole thing though. I already adored the characters, so I absorbed all the knowledge I could.
I highly recommend both the anime and manga to anyone who enjoys awkward romance. I watch it at least once a year... and now I'll be reading the manga annually as well.
