Stranger (Happily Never After) by B. Bennett is a powerful and compelling read. Gabrielle’s life is forever changed after a night out with friends. I really enjoyed the story, there are a few dark and twisted portions of the story, but Bennett manages to make it hauntingly perfect. During her darkest moments, there is someone who tries to save Gabrielle from the bad guys. There are so many twists and turns that this story takes. It is done in a believable fashion, there is nothing predictable about this story. Bennett has done a marvelous job of putting her take on a classic tale. There are so many layers to this story. I had to re-read it twice before attempting to do this review. It was and is that good. Everything about this story is sheer perfection. This was my first time reading one of her stories and it will not be my last. She is on my list of favorite authors. I will be recommending this book to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
In The Presence of Knowing by Valarie Savage Kinney is fantastical. The story revolves around Keisha who recently escaped an abusive relationship. She has just learned that she is pregnant and wants to protect her baby at all costs. Keisha also discovers that there is more to life than what she knows.
Valarie Savage Kinney outdid herself on this story. A majority of the story takes place at a Ren-Fest. A unique cast of characters help Keisha deal with everything that is going on in her life. I really fell in love with the people at Windy Springs. Which is absolutely pure genius on her part. The bond between Keisha and her best friend Layla is perfect. We all need a Layla in our lives. The plot is believable. The dynamic between the characters is amazing. The dialogue is sheer perfection and realistic. This story really made me believe in magic. I really like how there are subplots in the story. This makes me really want the second book in the series. I will be recommending this book to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
Yours to Claim by Cathy Jackson picks up where Yours to Love left off. Ruthie and Max are on the highway to love. There is drama, comedy, and sweet romance. Ruthie Eden and Maximillian Roselle seem disconnected from one another at times during this story.
The story was well written and the plot seemed a little rushed at times. I still wish that we could have gotten more of Ruthie’s backstory. I still have a hard time connecting with Ruthie’s character. She comes across as playful one minute and cold the next. I did enjoy the story.
I will recommend this story to others who enjoy Christian romance stories. I give it 4/5 Platypires.
Endurance by Amy Daws is absolutely fantastical. Daws has knocked the ball out of the part with this story. Belle and Tanner are enemies at first but you just know that the chemistry between the two is magical. From the moment, they meet again, you know it’s about to get heated between the two.
Amy Daws has a way of creating characters that become family to you. I felt an instant kinship with Belle. As an avid reader of Amy Daws works, that is how I feel about all her books. I feel like I’m part of the family. You don’t know how much this means to me as a reader. I love having that instant connection with characters.
The one liners, euphemisms, and insults had me howling with laughter. The storyline was on point, character development and growth was spot on, and the dialogue was believable.
Amy Daws, on the off chance that you read this please know that I am a ride or die reader of yours. You write it and I will read it.
I will recommend Endurance to everyone who loves to read sports romances. Also to the people who don’t read this genre, I’m going to recommend this story to them as well. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
The Exodus by Ali Winters is the sequel that I have been waiting for since I read the first book, The Reapers. Nivian, Kain, Caspian, and Silas are all back in this book. There is romance, action, drama, suspense, and a few surprise returns.
This book picked up where the first one left off (no spoilers from me, so you’re going to have read that one first). There are so many twists and turns in the second book that will leave you wanting more. Ali Winters knows how to create characters that you will love and hate. You will know who I am talking about when you read the story.
Nivi is a strong female character that knows how to handle herself. She is the one you want on your side in case of a fight. She is battling to save the world from impending disaster. The storyline is on point. The dialogues are believable. The characters are created so perfectly that even the most jaded person will like them. Ali Winters is a phenomenal writer. Everyone should read her stories.
I can honestly say that The Exodus saved me tonight. I strongly encourage everyone to read it. I give it 5/5 Platypires. I wish I could give it about 20 Platypires.

Sovereignty: Blood Lust by Marc Cage and Jayden Melborn is a fantastic prelude to their upcoming story. I was given a copy of this short story in exchange for a honest review. The authors definitely keep you in suspense as they build up to the action and drama in the story. Who can you trust when everything is falling apart? Can you really trust your family? I really enjoyed the dialogue between the two siblings in the first chapter. You get the sense that they are close They definitely make me want to get the next book to see what happens next.
I will recommend this story to others who love Dystopian and fantasy stories. I give it 4.5 Platypires out of 5 Platypires.
Back of Beyond by Neeny Boucher is a sweet but drama filled love story that takes place between Dina Martin and Nicholas Riley. They are complete opposites and frenemies but you can tell that there is a spark of attraction. She is forbidden to him because of his perceived self-worth and she is the sister of his best friend. Ms. Boucher captured what it was like to be made fun of in high school and how the cliques stood together.
I really liked how Dina’s family was supportive but I loved her friendship with Bonnie and Mandy. Those three were a force to be reckoned with. This is what stories need. We need more strong female friendships that are there for one another through thick and thin. I also really loved how each chapter was named after a song from the ‘90s. This made me relive some memories through the soundtrack.
The author has the ability to write characters that make you fall in love with them. Well with the exception of the Stephany and Bethany, I did not like them at all. But I’m guessing there is a reason for why they act the way they do.
I will recommend this story to everyone. I give it 5/5 Platypires. I’m looking forward to reading the next two books.
Speak Heart!: Make Them Hear by Charly Wilde is a beautifully written book of poems. Each poem will tug at your heartstrings or your emotions. The author Charly Wilde has amazing talent that shines through with her words.
Each poem is beautiful. Whether they are sad, happy, or thought provoking, they each invoke an emotion. They are empowering. Each poem flows beautifully and easily.
I really enjoy the author’s style. I look forward to reading their future works. I will recommend this book to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
Juniper by Felicia Leibenguth is a phenomenal read. This story brings the drama and action. I was drawn in from the first page. This is my first time reading a story by Felicia Leibenguth, and it will not be my last. I felt like I was right by Juniper’s side as she battled her way through the action.
There were times where I almost threw my kindle because the action was so good. The suspense made it hard to walk away from the story. Each character was relatable and the dialogue was realistic. The author did a wonderful job of bringing everything to life. You could almost imagine yourself in the fictional world.
I loved this story. Ms. Leibenguth, you have a fan for life in me. I will recommend this story to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.
Getting started here. Things will appear as I figure out what I want to be here.
