When her mate’s ex-wife storms back into their lives, Mercy knows something isn’t right. Christy has the furthest thing from good intentions—she wants Adam back, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get him, including turning the pack against Mercy.
Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. As the bodies start piling up, she must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.
My Review:
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 Platypires for Night Broken by Patricia Briggs
I feel like my girl Mercy is finally fully back. I freaking adore her. I thought the series lost its flavor in books 5 & 6 but it has fully made a comeback in books 7 & 8. Honestly, I can't believe it's been 8 books already. Not sure how long the series will last.
In Night Broken we learn more about Mercy's family and tad more about Coyote. It wasn't over saturated with visions like in the previous books. The story flowed really well with lots of action which I liked. Cameo appearances from favorite characters was a major plus. I actually wouldn't mind seeing more from the Samuel or Stephan.
My only complaint is Christy and the way Adam did not put her in her place. He's the Alpha and I know Mercy doesn't need protection but he should have still dealt with her. I really wanted Mercy to slap her or really put her in her place. It was really quite frustrating.
Overall, Night Broken was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to read the next installment. Any true Mercy Thompson fan will like it.
