My Review:
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 Platypires for Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Yes Please was my book club book for the month of August. Unlike a lot of the members in my book club, I read the book instead of listening to the audio. I think this made a huge difference between our experiences. It seems that those who listen to the audio loved the book. I on the other hand read the ebook and I did like it a lot. I just did not love it. I guess cause I didn't get to hear all the impressions and the guest voices.
Like I mention before I did like the book. I am a fan of Parks & Rec and was delighted to read about Amy Poehler. I think she's hilarious. The writing was pretty good. I just felt that it might have been better if the book went in chronological order instead of going back and forth. I found the book to be funny at times but not laugh out loud funny. I might have smiled a few time. i did like Amy Poehler life advice throughout the book. I felt she was pretty open about herself and the was willing to reveal negative parts about her personality. I thought that was pretty real and very refreshing to read. She has my respect.
Overall, I did really like this book and became more of a fan of Amy Poehler.
