The swarm advances—infecting, trampling—a destructive force that ends the world as Kara knows it. She's skinny now, starvation does that to a girl, and she flees north to the frozen land. Orphaned at eighteen, she's tasked with taking care of her little brother, and together they struggle for survival on this epic journey. When a video of Kara battling a coffee drone goes viral, a producer offers a contract for her own cable show. Can she and her brother escape the people-eaters who prowl at night? Will she fall for the young cowboy with the injured leg? To what lengths will Kara go to satisfy the producer's insatiable lust for ratings? All is revealed in this first book of the thrilling NV-290 Survival Series

Okay, this was fun. I know it's easy to say that you were held captivated when it's a pretty quick read, but I don't feel like the brevity of the story diminished that at all. A nice little twist made this something new and different to what I've read before, and I really enjoyed it!
The danger of ghouls was constant, and I could almost feel that right along with the main characters. A quick read to be sure, and if the author ever decides to flesh this out more fully, I'll be ready and willing to check that out, as well! Bob says: 4.5 Platypires for my first read of 2017! |
