Review
I'm not going to lie. I struggled to finish this book. I felt that the characters lacked emotion, lacked life. Maybe it's because the way the story is written is not a style I am comfortable reading (third person present). I felt no connection to the characters and I felt some scenes were rushed through and fell flat. I acknowledge that the author put a lot of thought and details into building the culture of the elves and spells, but it just wasn't enough for the story to come alive in my mind. I'm sure there are other readers who loved this book, but this book just wasn't for me.
