I highly recommend the whole series but they can all be read as a stand alone. Some of the characters make an appearances in each others book but it doesn't spoil or take away from the story. Even after reading all three books I just want to add that Lola and the Boy Next Door (book 2) is still my favorite.
Below is my 5 platypires review of Isla and the Happily Ever After
Synopsis:
Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?
Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.
Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.
My Review:
Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins My rating: 5 of 5 stars “I am hard on myself. But isn’t it better to be honest about these things before someone else can use them against you? Before someone else can break your heart? Isn’t it better to break it yourself? Oh Stephanie Perkins how you like messing with my emotions cause this book made me a gushy, gooey, hot mess. Isla and The Happily Ever After is the third book from Anna and the French Kiss and its so good. Really good. I have a hard time writing 5 star reviews because I usually have no words. I just know I just loved it. Josh and Isla are just great romantic leads and I just loved them. This book is truly romantic and lovely. I had a few OMG moments with a couple of sighs. Plus the cameos of the characters from previous books were just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend anything by Stephanie Perkins. She has become one of my favorite authors.
