Review
Three platypires for Finding Rapture!
I've gotta be really real with y'all, it took a lotta debating between me, myself, and I before we figured out what to rate this one.
On the one side, this story has so much potential. It seriously should have been a great, gut wrenching, suspenseful, dramatic, coming of age rock star love story that should have kept you pinned to your kindle. It has all the elements. There's the history of the BFF relationship with the rock star frontman turned passionate (albeit totally PG-13) lover with a heart of gold, the drama, the plot twists, the suspense till the end, and of course the room for several more books in the series - it's theoretically ideal. The formula for a solid, special story is spot on.
However, for me, the telling of this tale fell a bit flat. Don't get me wrong, some of the raw emotion definitely came through. But, it was still a bit sporadic for me, and just a bit off. Like it could use a bit more fine tuning, maybe? But, the potential was so totally there that I'll totally give book two a shot. I definitely feel like Jennie is going to blossom into a totally solid writer, and I don't wanna miss out on that.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
