Cassie Benson loves her life as a horse trainer in deepest Cornwall, then an unexpected telephone call brings a new client into her life: Sy Quillan, one of Hollywood’s currently favored stars who needs a riding trainer to get him ready for his next role.
But what neither anticipates is the instant attraction they feel, quickly changing their relationship from trainer-client into something far more compelling. The affair builds from lust to love, but can two such different lives find a common ground where they can move forward? |
*I recieved a copy of this book to be honestly reviewed.*
Okay, first I gotta be honest. A friend asked me to read and review this book by someone she knows. I went into this blind. I have to say that I wouldn't have accepted had known it was erotica (or at least borderline), as I don't really read that anymore, I lost my taste for it. That being said, I still enjoyed this book! I liked the characters, liked how the author let us into their thoughts to see what was going on outside of dialogue for both main characters. There was an actual plot to the story. I wasn't so keen on how much more sexy time than story plot there was, but really, that's a personal thing. The sex scenes were pretty well written. I really loved how she could have so easily gone into alpha male mode with Sy, as so many (MANY) books do now, but she reigned him in, both through other characters and through his own realizations. That was AWESOME, and it made me love them even more! Over all, for me, I say 3.5 stars. I bounced back and forth between 3 and 4, as that's the only rating available, and have decided on 4, and I'll tell you why. Two main reasons: 1, the ending is so sweet! And 2, stand alone! Don't get me wrong, I love series, too, but I'm already entangled in soooo many different series, that a good standalone is refreshing! Bob says: 3.5 rounded to 4 Platypires! |
