In the city of Pyre, only those with excellent genetics can visit Earth’s colony planets, including the legendary Orithyia. Those without this advantage live in relative poverty, under the forceful control of the Council.
Quinn isn’t one of Pyre’s elite, though she’s desperate to see the stars. After an incident with the Council’s thugs, she stows away on the latest ship to launch, the Neptune. But when a series of deadly ‘accidents’ occur on board, Quinn and her new friends must figure out who’s orchestrating the attacks – and why. *I was given a copy of this book to be honestly reviewed*
You better get comfy before you start this, because it will suck you in until the end! Action-packed and dramatic, this book is an amazing start. Social castes with a major dark side that is hidden from the society at large mixed with a sci-fi twist made for an excellent base plot. I loved the characters, though I admit that my kids went a little bonkers at one point and I mixed up two of the guys for a bit and became sooooo confused lol. I also do NOT suggest letting your kindle read this one to you, the mispronunciations the gadget makes on names will drive you crazy! Definitely read it for yourself and not try to listen while you do dishes! Overall, I thought this had a good plot, though it got a tad complicated at times. The pace was heart-pounding, and I thought most of the characters were pretty well developed. I am DEFINITELY looking forward to continuing this series. Bob says: 4 Platypires! |
