An Island in Peril
"You could go down with me, all three of you. Instead of holding your places as coven leaders." Agnes stared into the swirling cauldron surface. "I should make you all go home." "We're doomed without change," Rosary said while tall Piper nodded and the normally bubbly Vine hugged herself. "Our Island will not survive much longer. And Constance refuses to do anything to save us that isn't tradition." Snorts all around. "We didn't come here lightly, or to abandon you now. Act or let us leave this ancient place where once our real leader stood proud." "Lilith." Agnes nodded again. The cauldron fell still a long moment and each of them shivered at the sorrowful wind that washed over them. The magic of the forest mourned that name, that loss, in a wash of grief that swayed them like trees in a wind. It passed, life returning, an eagerness seizing them all when the power renewed its purpose. Without speaking again, Agnes raised both hands over the churning water while it rose in utter joy to greet her waiting touch. "Let us begin." Prince Edward Island's power is dying--without the lost magic of their deceased coven leader to feed it, it's doomed to perish or be absorbed by another territory. When four rebel witches uncover a curse that hid the presence of an heir to that magic from them, they send for her to heal what has been broken. But this daughter of ancient power has spent her life outside all things witchy and it will take more than loyalty to the Island or the sisterhood to lure her home. |

This was a fun, quick read. The imagery in the first couple of chapters was just beautiful, I could picture everything so clearly! The main character, Reese, seems like she's going to be interesting to follow, and I plan on reading more. Would recommend to witch lovers and those who don't have much time at once to read.
