Have you ever noticed that no matter what two books you read, there's always a way to compare them? Well, I have. It's like a game I play with myself. But I've decided to let you in on it.
Okay, so how you play is by grabbing the last two books (or as far back as you'd like) that you've read and see how they compare. This is especially fun if they're completely different genres.
The older protective male figure in both books threatens the love interest. Oh, and both male love interests had a girlfriend at the beginning of the book to stir drama. Also the father meeting part was awkward in both of them.
The female main characters both recently graduated high school and are not able to start life as intended because of dramatic reasons. They're both struggling to accept their fate in life. One because of an accident that messed up her spine and another because she was given a position below what she expected due to a flaw in her genetics.
Clara from Resist the Machine feels like a defective because she does not think the way she's supposed to and Ellen feels like the town charity case because she's got cerebral palsy and doesn't walk the way she's supposed to. In both instances both main characters feel apart from their society because of their differences. At the same time, they both try hard to fit in the way they're supposed to so they draw less attention to themselves.
