of the coffin, and only Isabel can walk the fine line between the world of the living and the world of the
undead.
Torn between letting go of her past and embracing her future, Isabel will have to decide who she can trust,

Bob's Review
I must say, I really liked this book! When I first went into it, I was worried it was going to be a rip-off of the Anita Blake series. It is NOT. This stands beautifully all on its own. I found the characters to be well written and fun. The story flowed well, and I stayed engaged through the whole book, which is saying something since I've been easily bored lately! It's been a while since I read a good book with vamps and weres, and I'm so glad to have found this. I can't wait for the next in the series!
Also, I volunteer myself if Xavier needs to be kept busy.
Bob say: 5 Platypires!
Sara's Review
Plus, the main character, Isabella, was someone I liked instantly. The fact she's an ordinary human with no supernatural abilities or talents in a world of the paranormal is something that I thought was a great decision in her development. She came across as someone intelligent, devoted to her family (despite her mother who was quite a character in her own right), and was rather witty at times. I also loved Shane, her fiance, who had been turned into a vampire, and it was interesting to see the interaction between the two and the shift in their relationship.
I'll admit, there came a point in the novel that Xavier won me over and found a place on the list of characters I liked. He's basically the head of the vampires in the region of the Carolinas and Georgia. Overall, this was a great introduction to Isabella's world and the other inhabitants. I know I already want to read book two.
My rating is 5/5 platypires.
