SYNOPSIS:
Somehow Joe survived the unlivable, and now he's just going through the motions. An endless string of one night stands does little to dull the ache from all he's lost. Even though he distracts himself daily with back-breaking work, his violent rage still simmers just under the surface.
Then along comes Molly, the feisty baby sister of his two best friends. Joe hasn’t seen her in years, and he's unprepared for his reaction to her when she falls out of the food truck and into his arms. Molly is still as mouthy as ever, and now she's as delicious as the food she's serving up. It's totally against "The Bro Code", but he just can't seem to keep his hands off of her.
Molly has come back home to Austin to mend fences and feed a whole new crowd. Dealing with Joe's demons doesn't figure into her business model. Something is very different about him and she craves the ‘Old Joe’ she used to have a crush on.
Still, the broody carpenter's swagger is damn near irresistible. And all work and no play makes Molly a cranky girl.
MEL's REVIEW:

GOOD WOOD by LG and Michelle Pace is an amazing standalone that will leave you wanting a little more. I have devoured everything Michelle Pace has written and I love that she can merge her style with a partner and still have a great book. I love that a husband and wife team wrote this book. It was great fun and a CLEAN read. My daughter is getting to the age that she wants to read a good romance book and I want to share what I read with her. I can always count on Michelle to deliver.
Molly and Joe are childhood friends that go their separate ways and wind up after years and lots of life happenings hanging out and hooking up. Molly is an amazing Rockabilly, sad life lessons learned, hottie and Joe is broken and trying. Oh how I love them both. They are funny and witty and people that you know. LG and Michelle bring these two characters and their family so true to life, that it feels like they are friends of mine and I am just spying on the inner happenings of their lives.
Austin, Texas is its own character. On a personal note, I lived and called Austin home for many years. Austin was alive among the pages of GOOD WOOD. It made me homesick. Austin is just one of those unique places and LG and Michelle talk about the quirkiness and love of the city like no other. It was fun walking through the streets of Austin and hanging in the park.
GOOD WOOD is a story of love and healing and the city where it all takes place. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone seeking a great read.
GOOD WOOD by LG and Michelle Pace receives 5 out of 5 Platypires!!!
TEXAS HUGS and HAPPY READING!!!
SIDE NOTE:I just want to clarify...when I say "clean" read...this book is still a NA NOT a YA.. . My daughter is extremely mature for her age and you should always use your own judgement with your children.
LIZZIE's REVIEW:
Note: Lizzie is Mel's 14 year old daughter that shares her Mom's passion for books.
OMG!!! I absolutely loved Good Wood. While reading this book, I found myself being taken into the world of Molly and Joe. At some points of Good Wood, I was crying and at other times I was smiling so wide that my cheeks hurt. I would definitely recommend Good Wood to anyone who loves and good romance. I give Good Wood 5 Platypires.
