KALIN
Her whispered words were a prayer and Kalin fell even deeper for the beautiful, kind-hearted queen of the Dragon Bloods.
"She'll stay with me." Dexter spoke up. Kalin opened her mouth in slight protest, but he stopped. "I know you and I haven't always gotten along, Kalin, and I've had my reasons as to why I've been so hard on you. However, that aside, the queen can't just be left in anyone's care. I'll protect her as if she were my own daughter."
Kalin studied Dexter as he spoke and suspected there was much more to what he had just said. Kalin sighed. "You’re right. I'd feel better if she was in your care." She caressed Venia's hand with her thumb and it calmed her down.
"Well, if there is nothing else..." Dexter began, but then paused and Kalin smiled because she knew he already knew.
"Venia can spit fireballs." She said, still chuckling.
Venia tugged on her hand and Kalin's gaze went to hers. "Why did you tell him that?" She asked and she was clearly upset. No, upset wasn't it, she was angry.
"He already knew." Kalin said with a smile.
Venia's gaze flew to Dexter. "How?" She demanded.
"Every Dragon Blood has powers. One of mine is knowing some things, but not all, as they happen or before they happen. I am also the power keeper, meaning I know which Dragon Blood can do what. I already knew and while Kalin's away, I'll help you out." Dexter and Mario left after Dexter finished his speech.
"Hey, it’s okay. He can help you understand your power or powers. I trust him." Kalin said, drawing Venia's gaze.
Venia's head rested against Kalin's shoulder. "This is all… I can't even describe it.”
Kalin rubbed Venia's shoulders and whispered sweet words to her, effectively calming her.
