I’m not sure a book written as a compilation of journal entries should be allowed to make you emotionally attached to characters so. Yet here we are, at the end of the adventures of the crew of airship Dame Fortuna. I was given this book in exchange for a honest review. This is the third and final book in the Dawn of Steam series and it concludes the series neatly. This book ties up all the plot twists building through the first two books and allows many heroes to show their merit. The last half especially has a lot of action, and is amazingly fast paced for this style of writing. I was not expecting the ending as it turned out and actually had to go back and re-read several paragraphs to let some things sink in fully. I would again recommend this book and series to any with a love of classic fiction, steampunk or even Victorian era fiction and mystery. Five platypires for Dawn of Steam: Rising Suns. |
