Basically many pure bloods have something messed up in their genetics and that's the explanation as to why so many of them are crazy. So Hermione works with the ministry to create a binding ceremony with a genetics test and a personality comparability test to match people. Also it's been a bit since Voldemort was defeated and so many of the death eater's children have adapted and worked to improve themselves so as to become a decent member of society and improve their family name.
All of that fancy stuff leads to Hermione being matched with Draco Malfoy. Chaos ensues. It's glorious! Both of them have to forgive their pasts, and by which I mean they both have to forgive the shit Draco did, for all of this to work out.
There's also issues because Ron is super pissed off that Hermione dumped him after the test decided they were incompatible. And his sister and Harry also broke up and got matched to Slytherins. Oh, and so does George. I do understand where Ron is coming from and I'd probably refuse to sign up for the matching as well if I was given the opportunity. But nobody was forced into it and he was a complete dick about everything. But that did keep things exciting.
I am pleased to report that I really enjoyed reading this. I also think it did a good job of keeping everyone in character despite the alternation to the end of their stories.
