About the Book
We are a nation of immigrants and no one knows who’s coming across our borders today, whose story might add a significant page to our American story. Here in the early years of our new century, as at the turn of the last, we are once again at war with our “new Americans.” As in the last, people will come, will suffer hardship and prejudice, will do battle with the most reactionary forces and hardest hearts of their adopted home and will prove resilient and victorious.
Review
This is really more of two books in one. And it's almost 20 hours long/over 500 pages. So, it totally counts as two books as well.
For the first part I was pretty interested. It was about him growing up and his family. Plus his dedication to music was pretty awesome. I'd say it was pretty inspiring.
Then it got into the second half. By this point I'm kinda getting bored and he talks so freaking slow. I'm trying to care, because there's a buncha cool stuff going on. I even put it down and came back to it a few times. Alas, nope.
I ended up not finishing this one.
There's a bunch of interesting bits, so if you like Bruce Springsteen you should definitely read it.
