Review
Like Carrie, Debbie Reynolds is someone I took for granted. I knew she existed, but I knew nothing about her and she never really stood out to me. Also, it turns out she's in many animated shows and movies I enjoyed growing up (Kim Possible, Charlotte's Web, Rugrats, Halloween Town and Kiki's Delivery Service to name a few).
Her life story is fascinating. I have a newfound respect for her now. Also, I can't believe I've gone my entire life without having ever seen Singing in the Rain. I know the songs! I bring me shame and dishonor.
She went through some awful crap, and yet she still persisted. She did frustrate me often with her naivety, which often resulted in a negative consequence such as her husbands using her for her money. And who doesn't love a good ex-bashing?
I really liked how she went through many of her movies and explained her experiences through each one. It also made me realize how often I overlooked her.
Anyway, listen to the audio version. I think all memoirs should be listened to if read by the author, because it gives a more personal experience.
