I was graciously given this book (thank you) by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

If you read the first book and you thought you knew Miller, you were delusional. Malapas took us to a much deeper place than we have been before. Livy and Miller has so many new layers in this new book, you are going to think it is different people. To say some of the things revealed were shockers is an understatement.

Denied picks upright were One Night Promised left off and it did not stop from there. It was action packed, full of drama and even danger! I wanted to SAVOR this book but I devoured it instead. This book took hold of me and I dared anyone to interrupt me. Malpas as everyone who has ever read anything by her is extremely talented, but she has hit an all new level here. This is more than your romance novel, trust me there is plenty intimate parts, steamy, hot parts - that may have you fanning yourself. This book is so much more to this book, this is an emotional roller-coaster.

You get to find out a lot more about Miller's life, he is so beautifully broken (I'll fix you Miller, come to Texas!) Livy takes it as her responsibility to help him overcome his fears. I just don't think Livy knew exactly what she was getting herself into.

If you can only read one series this year make it the One Night series, it is a must read!!!

I give Miller a Million stars, oh wait I wasn't reviewing Miller's performance.

Synopsis:
The new breathtaking novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the This Man trilogy

ONE NIGHT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH . . .

Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He's heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she's almost too distracted to take his order. When he walks out the door, she thinks she'll never see him again. Then she finds the note he left on his napkin . . . signed M.

All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. Every defense mechanism Livy has adopted during her solitary life is at risk of being obliterated by this confounding man. He's obnoxious but well-mannered. He's a gentleman but aloof. He's passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can't deny him . . . or herself.

M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed-and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he's aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she'll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession-an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair . .

Renee's Review

One Night Promised by Jodi Ellen Malpas, you know I met her at a signing, very proper English Lady! After reading this the past two days, I'm thinking how did this book come from that very proper lady????? This book had me saying Jesse who?

This book started with a very sweet girl, Olivia and what I liked to think of as a mysterious man, Miller. Miller is taken by her and her ask Olivia for just one night, one night of ultimate pleasure. As much as he intrigues her and she would like for that to happen, it's just not enough for her.

Miller was completely swoon worthy. He was so tender and kind to her every time he was with her. He worshipped her, needed her. Ahhh, I'll give you what you need Miller!!! Livie was the kind of girl who always does the right thing, she was always running. (I wouldn't run Miller!) She has her issues. She has things she doesn't seem to be able to get over.

This book was so deep and emotional, I could not put this book down. My heart was racing at the end. The characters are so beautifully damaged. If I could give this book more that 5 stars I would.

I was graciously gifted (thank you) this audiobook from the publisher and Audiobookjukebox.

Who Needs a Hero? by Jennifer L. Hart was a good story, I enjoyed the commentary the heroine had with herself and other people. Maggie's down on her luck and can't catch a break.

Neil is a Navy Seal so yeah he is an alpha male, but he has a sweet side and loves his two little boys. He is having issues in his life as well. I felt like we really didn't get to know him really until the end of the book.

Since this was an audiobook, I was listening to this and it kept my attention. The only problem I had and my reason for the 3 stars was the transition between the characters on the audio. Sometimes, I couldn't tell who was talking. Maggie's and Neil's voice should not be so similar in the passion of love. It was really just these two characters that sounded too similar for me.

I still enjoyed the book very much and it made me smile!

When I sign up for these books, I give them my full attention and this one grabbed my attention. When I first started reading it I was like WTH did I just sign up for? I keep reading, there was a little bit of a sci-fi twist to this too, which again, so not my genre. So you ask what kept me reading a story so out of my realm that I normally would have just shut it down and run??? This is a really interesting plot. I needed to know what was going to happen.

I could see this book being a series, I felt like the characters needed a little more depth. I didn't get the feeling like I knew them but that could be because they are gay and I'm not. I do have a 21 year old gay son, so I feel like I understand more than the average. This is my reason for the three stars. If you're looking for a kink factor and heavy BDSM, this book has all you need.

SYNOPSIS

All of her friends know her as Dana Darling, the clean romance writer. She's never written a steamy novel, not even in her head, but now her publisher needs her to write one. It doesn't appear too difficult at first, but then Dana's lack of sexual knowledge creates writer's block.

That's where her friend Landon comes in. She needs pointers on positions and dirty talk, and he owes her a favor. They agree that it's strictly business and clothes are mandatory, but once they get to work, it's another story entirely... one that's being written between the sheets and not on paper.

*More Than Words is a standalone erotica novella*

This ARC was graciously (thank you)given to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

More Than Words by Lilly Avalon, is a great little steamy novella. I think it would make a great full length novel. I was totally wrapped up in the concept of this story. It was not only hot and steamy but also funny as well. Avalon did a great job on the emotions Dana went through from start to finish. How she was confident in her writing ability but not in her "other" abilities.

Landon was just slick and charming. Dana just didn't know what she was in for, or learning new things could be so much fun.

I recommend this novella, who knows Landon might teach you a thing or two.

Synopsis-
In a forest in Denmark, a ranger discovers the fresh corpse of an unidentified woman. A large scar on one side of her face should make the identification easy, but nobody has reported her missing. After four days, Louise Rick--the new commander of the Missing Persons Department--is still without answers. But when she releases a photo to the media, an older woman phones to say that she recognizes the woman as Lisemette, a child she once cared for in the state mental institution many years ago. Lisemette, like the other children in the institution, was abandoned by her family and branded a "forgotten girl." But Louise soon discovers something more disturbing: Lisemette had a twin, and both girls were issued death certificates over 30 years ago. As the investigation brings Louise closer to her childhood home, she uncovers more crimes that were committed--and hidden--in the forest, and finds a terrible link to her own past that has been carefully concealed.

This ARC was graciously (thank you)given to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Forgotten Girls by Sara Blaedel is a great crime mystery book. This book is scheduled to be published on early February 2015. Blaedel resides in Denmark and is the author of the best selling police detective novels featuring Louise Rick. This was my first book by Blaedal, I found it to be brilliant. The plot and twists were intriguing and keep me interested.

The setting for this book is in Denmark, which sounds beautiful.  We find the main character Louise Rick has just taken a new position in a Special Search Agency to find unresolved missing people. She gets a brand new murder case immediately and a new partner ( which she none too impressed with at first).  Here is the twist, the murder victim has been declared dead for 30 years, but only actually died a few days ago.

The deceased and her twin were born with disabilities and were placed in an institution where they were abused and parents were discouraged from seeing them. Louise was an intelligent investigator and her partner work well with her.  I don't want to give too much away here, but it was an excellent mystery book. If you like Lee Child or James Patterson, you might want to give her a try.

Owning Violet by Monica Murphy is a beginning of a new series, The Fowler Sisters. This book is set December 2, 2014. It is HOT! Get ready, I could not put this book down. I wanted to find out what was going on at Fleur Cosmetics, there was a lot of sexual tension right away.

Your main players here, Violet gives off the vibe to her co-workers that she is breakable. That she is barely hanging on, but still so well put together, never a hair out of place. Zachary, is ambitious and just got promoted, but he has never really put Violet first.  Ryder, is HOT! The ultimate street kid turned himself into something. He is arrogant, mysterious, and Violet kinda crazy with more desire than old Zac could only dream about. Pilar, she is so conniving, manipulative, ugh, bad, bad, bad. I just wanted to slap her so many times.

Let me tell you right now, it starts out like slow, sweet, burn (ya getting me here) building you up. The sexy innuendos between Violet and Ryder are pretty hot by themselves.  This is just the start, trust me like I said she is just teasing us here, playing with us, reving us up for schmexy time. When she there she doesn't let up. Bam! OMG! It's good! She does those scenes well.  That's not all the book is about but I had to get the important stuff in this review. There is a lot of back stabbing and double crossing you would think you were watching a really good night time drama.

I highly recommend this book!

Renee's Review

The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred, is a truly a southern gem. I felt like I was stepping back into my childhood. Allred certainly got the dialect correct, although I didn't see them say y'all. Surely it's not just an Alabama thing, I know I've head it here in Texas, or have I rubbed on some of my friends (I'll ponder that a while).  She was so descriptive on the food, I can really cook some good ole southern food. This remained growing up, my Granny and my  Aunt Donia they were they cooks in the family. So the mention of the cornbread and beans, fried potatoes, and sliced tomatoes right out of the garden, spoke to this Bama girl's heart. She also described the town so beautifully, I grew up in a small town, where everyone knew everyone else's business, and you think that's just a okay until it's your business.  That is what is book is son much about, Katherine Allred got it all right! Even the bless his heart!! :-)

Her character development on all of her characters was really off the characters. I felt like this was my hometown and these were the people I went to high school with, I knew them. My heart ached for them. I wanted to comfort them. Give them my words of wisdom. This story really wrapped me up. It's endearing, sweet, heart breaking, emotionally intense, frustrating wonderful read. It is a mix between The Notebook and To Kill a Mocking Bird. This book needs to be on your tbr list. Go ahead, do it right now,, you will thank me later.

Renee's Review

Thankfully Mia Sheridan didn't make us wait on this conclusion to Becoming Calder. Where a lot of author just writes points of view from the other characters side (usually the guys) which I love by the way, she gave us more of the story. As the late Paul Harvey would say, This is the rest of the story. Wow, what to say without giving the plot or ending of Becoming Calder.  Well, you already know how brilliant I think Mia Sheridan is and how gifted she is. She wouldn't ended her last sentence in a preposition. Things like that and my lack of an imagination are high on the list for the reason I'm not an author.

This book is about finding your way when everything you have known to be true is gone. It's about getting out of your comfort zone and still being in your own personal prison, when all you ever wanted was the freedom to love and be loved. Now things are more unclear than ever. Your still looking for your personal truth and its about having that one person who gets you. Your person, the one you turn to, that forever person. Learning to forgive so your can learn to live without pain and finding the strength to go on down that path that leads to your future.  That's a lot of good advice for graduating seniors or couple getting married or the average Joe. So maybe Sheridan wasn't just writing a book here. Maybe she was sneaking in a few words of wisdom? That's  something each reader will have to decide for themselves. For me, I'm going to take it to heart, I'm going to find strength to go down paths that sometimes look scary, I'm going to forgive and let things go. That is more for you than the person your forgiving, the weight of the will feel like it has been lifted off your shoulders.

Renee's Review

I can see it now, this book has the makings of a mini-series.  Becoming Calder, by Mia Sheridan is like a fine wine, I had to let it a few day and get a breath before I could write this review. It was deep, dark and completely mind blowing.  I'm really not sure where to even start to give this book a review it deserves. Mia Sheridan is a very talented writer, she has taken this series "Sign of Love" and every book is so unique from the last. This one takes the cake for originality!  This had your suspense, forbidden love, best friend, religion/cult compound, erotica, kid-napping, all in one book.  This all takes place modern day, but the works of the compound have none of the modern conveniences we all take for granted.

This book follows Calder and Eden over a span over years.  The first time Calder sees Eden, she is introduced by Hector (cult leader) as "the Blessed One".  She was about 10 years old, Hector told his congregation that she would be his bride and stand by his side, just as soon as she turned 18 of course. You know he had to keep it all respectable and everything.... nothing creepy there or anything (gag).  Calder has a beautiful heart even as a kid, always doing the right thing. He is a hard worker, and loves his family beyond measure. Eden is an innocent child, scared beyond belief, not allowed to associate with the other children with her being the "Blessed One" and all that and the bag of chips. They catch each others eye several times though the years but their friendship really blossomed when she turned 17. When I say blossomed, I mean fireworks!!! They start meeting at a secret spring and things heat up 1000 degrees or so. They decide they love each other, but they know Hector would kill Calder and punish her, so they will never be together.  See mini-series worthy.

The twists in this book had me gasping, my water works were going full force.  My heart was not only going out to Eden and Calder, but a lot of the secondary characters. Like Calder sister, she melted my heart. Mia did a beautiful job, what more can I say.... It was epic.
