SYNOPSIS:

Colleen Hoover, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe Someday brilliantly brings to life the story of the wonderfully hilarious and charismatic Warren in a new novella, Maybe Not.

When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.

Or maybe not.

Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.

Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?

Maybe.   Maybe not

RENEE'S REVIEW

Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover is to be read after Maybe Someday.  It starts a little before Maybe Someday and it focuses of Warren and Bridgett.  It lets us  see the dynamics of their ummm..... "relationship".

There is plenty of sexual tension between these two, and they are enemies! Brennan (Ridge's brother) let's Bridgett move in with the guys and at first Warren is mad. He doesn't want to share his bathroom or anything else really. That is until he gets one look at Bridgett, he suddenly becomes very hospital. He wants to know if Brennan is interested in her....

...... You have to be honest with me, because I think you might be in love with her and I need you to tell me you’re not, because I think I might want to kiss her. And touch her. A lot. Like, everywhere.”......

The thing he had yet to consider is that she is a total bitch.....

......“She slams the door shut without saying please or thank you or goodbye. And even though she’s the most inconsiderate person I’ve ever met in real life, I can’t stop smiling. I think we may have just bonded.”

Even though this is a novella Hoover packs it full, two people a lot alike falling in love but fighting it every step of the way....

...... “She's nothing I've ever wanted in a girl. And absolutely everything I need.”.....

Both of these kids are stubborn and hardheaded, but sometimes love will find a way, maybe or  maybe not! You didn't think I would tell you did you?  Can't give a spoiler, but I will leave you with this....

.......“The only difference between falling in love and being in love is that your heart already knows how you feel, but your mind is too stubborn to admit it.”

I give Maybe Not 4 Platypires!

When he’s asked to tutor Olivia, he jumps at the chance to show her that he’s not the guy she—and everyone else—thinks he is.

A love so good, it can’t be bad…
Nights of tutoring and hockey games soon lead to romance. As Olivia learns to trust in Luke, her love makes him realize that just being himself is enough. But when her parents’ dislike of Luke threatens to destroy her family, she begs him to keep their relationship a secret. When that secret’s revealed, will Olivia make the right choice or will Luke be left behind once again?

Can you learn to love yourself enough to trust someone else?

RENEE'S REVIEW

This book was gifted to me by the author (thank you) in exchange for an honest review.

Learning to Love by Crystal Perkins is the fourth book in the Griffin Brothers series.  Learning to Love is a story about just that younger adults learning what it is to be in a real relationship.  Learning how to nurture a relationship, talk to each other, and honestly care for each other.

Luke is the youngest Griffin brother, he has always lived in his brothers shadows. Scott is the smartest, Ryan has the most athletic, and Owen, well he is the life of the party.  He has felt like he's never lived up to the Griffin name.  He doesn't want to be part of the family business, instead he wants to be a teacher.

Oliver has always tried to live up to her parents expectations. She is a good girl, she pays her own way in school, she is working, and pays for her own apartment.  She does everything in her power to show them that she lives up to their high standards but they still look down on her.

About a year ago, Luke and Olivia was in an unusual situation at a bar that made Olivia think poorly of Luke.  When Olivia needs help in English and gets a tutor, she isn't very happy to see that it is Luke.  Luke has change his playboy ways since the last time they saw each other.  He wants a chance to show her how much he has changed and thinks this tutoring gig just might do the trick.

They soon start dating, but not without communication problems. Then with her overbearing parents, things can get pretty sticky. Feeling can get hurt real fast and bad decisions make things even worst.  These kind of things happen with young love, especially when you still feel like your under your parents thumb.  Then when secrets come out and it still seems like decisions are being made that will hurt them both.  All of these problems can be solved with communication!! If there is one thing common about these Griffin boys, besides being very loyal, is that they are stubborn and hard headed.

Tears will fall when you read this novel. The good thing with Perkins, she always promises to leave us with a happily ever after.

RENEE'S REVIEW

I was gifted this book from the author (thank you) in exchange for an honest review.

Whistlin' Dixie by Maggie Adams, is full of southern charm and dialect. Who doesn't love a little spit-fire?Dixie, a five foot nothing kindergarten teacher is just that. She is full of sass and she doesn't let anyone push her or her brother for that matter. Mac is determined to rebuild the town from a flood that pretty much destroyed it. You put these two together and you get "sparks" in the form of sexual tension.

I love a good southern story, with all the good sayings and dialect. I grew up in Alabama, at the foothills of Appalachian Mountains (for real no jokes!) and Dixie grew up in a small valley with the mountains  surrounding her.  So, reading about that in this book was really neat.  Adams got all the dialect right in this book, she didn't try to over do the southern drawl.

I loved Dixie right away, just looking at the cover- I fell in love with this book.  It just screams, I'm a girl full of sass and I'm not going to take any of your crap! That is very fitting of Dixie, you just can't help but love her. I love reading about strong women who doesn't let a little thing like height get in their way, she doesn't let only being 21 raising her 16 year old brother by herself either.  I love her playful banter she has with her brother and with Mac sometimes too.

Mac is swoon worthy, Dixie makes sure we know that. He comes across as stubborn and headstrong at first. When you see he position you see why, He runs the family construction business and he has a job to do.  His work is being hindered by a vandal.  So, he doesn't have time for games or hmmm to have his mind wander like it does when she is around.

Adams opens up herself by introducing us to several secondary characters, so I forward to see a lot more from Maggie Adams in the future!  This is a sweet but spicy romance story.  There were a few grammatical errors but I really don't judge a book by that, I judge it by the story. (We aren't teachers grading papers psh)

I give Whistlin Dixie 4 platypires
that's 4 stars to most of you.

SYNOPSIS:

The rule was simple—don't fall in love with a student. Drake had never had that problem—not until he met the buxom brunette in the bar. Grace was one of a kind, virginal but far from chaste. When she wanted him to teach more than history, he was left with a choice that could ruin them both.

Grace was always the good girl, until she met her wild best friend, Christina, who pushed her out of her shell. She fell head over heels for the sexy, young college professor, but when everything shattered around her, she was left with figuring out who she really was. RENEE'S REVIEW

This book was gifted to me by the publisher (thank you) for an honest review.

Saving Grace by Scarlett Jade is a beautiful story about coming-of-age for a young lady.  A story about how precious and beautiful life can be.  The character development was well written.  The reader felt the pain and anguish that each of the main characters felt. Ms. Jade made you want to help,  be there for them, she made me care for them and cry for them.

Grace is not so different from any girl heading off to college for the first time.  At least, no different than any teenage girl who has never really lived. You know where your nervous and excited at the same time. A teenage girl who is expected to act and do and live exactly like her parents think she should.  Once arriving at college and meeting her new roommate Christina, Grace decides it is time for her to make some changes in her life.  A new haircut, and some new clothes work some amazing magic.  Christina teaches Grace that it is ok to be different; after all, Christina is her own free spirit! (I've always told this to my children, and I think all parents should)  A person does not have to fit into a little box to be likeable or considered beautiful.  Why does society or the media get to dictate what is considered beautiful?

Grace goes with Christina to a bar the weekend before classes start and Grace meets a man.  Things spiral quickly out of control.  Is Grace really an adult?  Is Grace really capable of handling herself in the situation she finds herself in?  Grace finds that she has to spread her wings to find herself; not what everyone else wants her to be.

It is Drake that Grace meets that first night at the bar.  Drake?  thinks he is a very good looking guy!! Poor Grace, how was she to know that Drake was in fact her college professor?  Talk about trouble! Can we say FORBIDDEN ROMANCE!!! Wanting something you can't have.  The journey for Drake and Grace is dangerous for them; as they both quickly learn.  When Grace looks to her mom for support, she learns some secrets that she never would have imagined.

Argh....cliff hanger....to be continued....?  (I need book 2 please!)  In the end, a happily-ever-after could still be possible.

I give Saving Grace 4 Platypires
or 4 beautiful stars, however you like to count thing!

SYNOPSIS:

You met Audrey Decker through Nate and Libby’s story in For Nicky, Torey Hope book 1. This is Audrey’s story. It is highly suggested that you read For Nicky before reading Because of Beckett so that you can be emotionally vested in Audrey’s story.

Audrey Decker is a mean girl, a bitch, a bully. She has no plans to stop treating people badly and she’s definitely not going to stop using sex as power. But when she ends up in therapy against her wishes, an ugly and painful repressed past is uncovered and Audrey’s world is tipped on its axis. Everything she thought she knew, everything she thought she was, is all changing.

Jeremiah Jordan returns from serving two years overseas with a detached and hardened heart. When his world is rocked with unexpected news and difficult challenges, Jeremiah faces them head on. He’s comfortable with where he is right now; he has his parents close by and his son is his world. He definitely doesn’t have time for the hassle that has always accompanied dating in the past. He doesn’t have it in him to put effort into forming relationships that may just hurt him or his son again.

A chance encounter, second chances, and a little boy who believes in learning from mistakes is all it takes to bring Audrey and Jeremiah together. However, deserving a second chance and taking that second chance are two very different things. Learning from mistakes and letting go of the past may be easier said than done. Can Audrey and Jeremiah push through the pasts that are haunting both of them or will their romance wither and die under the weight of it all?

Because of Beckett is a story of love, forgiveness, and second chances.

**Because of Beckett is recommended only for ages 18+ due to harsh language, adult situations, and mature themes. Certain pivotal points of Audrey’s history may trigger unpleasant memories for some readers.**

This was a redemption story of sorts, learning to not only love yourself but how to let go of the mistakes you've made in you past and move on. Getting the help you need and keep working on yourself.
A.D. Ellis has a wonderful way of making you care for her characters. You find your self so involved in their story and you want to cry with them. There was once in the book, I was saying... Oh, no she didn't, did she? This book was a little emotional but the epilogue made up for everything.

Don't let all this fill good mushy stuff you read in the previous paragraphs get in the way of letting you think Ellis skipped on the hot scenes. Nope, she has a strong knack for that too. From dirty talk to steamy interlude, Ellis continues with the hard core, ah romance situations.
I hope to see more from this little town!

While the fake engagement isn’t easy on either of them, Candi and Owen know that their love is strong enough to handle whatever’s thrown in their path. Or is it? When Owen makes the only choice he can, he risks losing Candi for real. And as friends and family take sides, theirs may not be the only relationship to fall apart. RENEE'S REVIEW

I was gifted this book (thank you) in exchange for an honest review.

Creating a Love by Crystal Perkins is different from the other two books in her Griffen Brothers Series. Different is not a bad thing, she deals with touchy-feely subjects that are real triggers for some people. To say the very least, she pushed what is considered socially acceptable limits. She does this with no regrets and she does it head on! I applaud her once again for writing a book that is a little outside the box, putting some of the real issues that people really face today and her dealing with them with grace and dignity.

Candi and Owen have been having a sexual relationship for two years, but that is all it has been...sex! They finally decide to make it more than that and tell all of their friends and family they are officially a couple. That very moment fate takes over!!! A friend from Owen's past, and that Owen owes a favor to walks in and blackmails Owen. She needs a pretend fiancé until her inheritance comes through from her Grandmother. She will then marry the real love of her life. She just needs a few months of Owens time.

The Griffen Family is one of strong morals and they believe in doing the right thing. Owen goes along with this fake engagement. Things aren't easy for Candi and Owen, but they know how strong their love is and they think that they can get through anything that they face.

Owen makes a choice to protect his friend but hurts Candi and ends up risking loosing her, the Griffen family for the first time divides loyalties. This could end up of more than just Candi and Owen.

SYNOPSIS:
Luke Evans is a heartbreaker.

I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out.

He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.

I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.

Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did.

I try to hate him. I try to forget him.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.

Tessa Kelly is a man-eater.

When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul.

What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want.

But she destroyed it.

She destroyed us.

I try to hate her. I try to forget her.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.

Besides that is a great book too! I wanted to savor this book, take my time and really enjoy it. I couldn’t do it! I sped through this book like a woman deprived of love for years!

Daniels does an awesome job with here character development, I felt all of the pain Tessa was going through and how much she wanted and needed Luke but lets her stubbornness get in the way. Luke is also hard headed and stubborn, isn't that how that goes, stubborn people end up together, and drive each other crazy. That’s not all Daniels gives us on these characters, Luke has had things harder and he isn't use to opening up and sharing his feelings, having someone to lean on. Tessa is the type of girl who is always there for the people she loves. She had great parents and never doubted that she was loved.

These two have a history to say the least, they were together before and things happen, things were said, so Tessa left him. Now, a year later, they still have that attraction, and want for each other. When these two are together you can almost feel the heat coming out of your book. Daniels knows how to make a scene smoke!

If you haven't given J. Daniels a chance yet, what are you waiting? She is the perfect mixture of hot steamy, make you need to fan yourself, and funny- just little jabs here and there to make sure your still paying attention. One CLICK recommended!

Renee's Review

I was given a free copy of this book from the author (thank you) in exchange for a honest review.

Building Our Love by Crystal Perkins is a book that is also building a series and a great author.  This is the second book in the Griffin Brothers Series.  Like the first book, (Gaming for Love) this book follows a Griffin brother as he falls in love, and all the ups and downs that naturally comes when your in a relationship.  Building Our Love is a little different, this is more of a book of second chances, secrets and scandals. If all of that doesn't get your motor revving right there, I think I may need to call the EMT's for the defribulator, seriously.

Chloe and Ryan has been friends forever, and in love since she was 14 and he was 17. Then after that one sweet, but awkward night, that they both gave each other the ultimate gift as loves, she just dumps him the next day. That's it, no explanation, not in person, not a heartfelt note... she did it over the phone.  Oops, that is a little spoiler. Now she need his help, well some of us (me), would have told her where to go and gave her directions on how to get there faster.  The Griffin family is one of a kind.  They are sweet and caring.  They help people in need (we need more people like this in the world).  So, Chloe and Ryan enter into an unique arrangement, I can't give you too much more without giving too much away. I do want to say that I absolutely loved the last tree house scene, it made tears roll down my cheeks.

Perkins again, did a great job on her character development.  She not only gives us all the goods on her two main characters, but she is continuously giving us peeks in the lives and minds of the other people that will be in up coming books as well. Most of the book is set in Vegas, with her living there, you know she gets everything right.
I can't wait to dive right into the next book! If these books aren't on your TBR list they need to be! I recommend you put them on there today or go ahead and one click them, they are only $0.99 each. That's a bargain for a great romance. Of course, I'm the self proclaimed One Click Queen. I have to ground myself from time to time from one clicking, that's a sad day.

On a side note, her dedication at the end, to her dad, was so touching and heartfelt.  I lost my Papa to Alzheimer as well in 2011. To me, he walked on water.

INFINITY STARS!!!

Infinity + One by Amy Harmon was a beautiful story of Bonnie and Clyde. The differences between the notorious duo and this sweet pair is Infinitely + One. This was one of those "once in a life time" kind of romances. It had ups and downs, many quite sad times and happy times.
Amy Harmon does not disappoint us on her character development here in this story. They are richly flawed and come to life beautifully. Amy knows how to weave a story until it is a masterpiece. She has always been an author that is thought provoking, and never shies away from the more difficult topics. She can take characters through transformations in her books so eloquently, as she did with Bonnie and Clyde. Harmon is an amazingly gifted writer.

Bonnie was such a sweetheart, being America's sweetheart and a country/pop singing sensation of you would expect her to be a spoiled or shallow. She grew up poor, a self proclaimed hillbilly. She has the most kind heart and helps people in need. It was awful to see her so sad and hurt. It really pulled at my heart strings. She is so caring and has such a loving heart, she is the kind of role model we all desire for our youth today. She might be this great popular singer but Bonnie just wants to be herself, and to be loved for who she is on the inside.

Clyde was hot! He was like Thor hot! That would probably be enough for me but Amy Harmon didn't stop there. He was smart and caring. He felt like he wasn't good enough for Bonnie. He is her protector and she is his world. He feels so unworthy, I just wanted to make it all better for him. He is our example of not judging people by their past, or judging a book by it's cover.  People can change, not all do, but there are people who learn from their lessons in life. He has had issues in his life but he is determined to start over.

This story take you on an amazing ride of fate and faith. Where two people find themselves and each other. They meet people along the way that they help and that helps them and touches their lives too. This is a wonderful inspiring book, yes it had sad parts, but the message and good in it out weighed all of sadness.  This was a top notched book in my opinion, as with everyone of Harmon's books that I have read.

Infinity + One by Amy Harmon receives 5 Platypires..... I would give it INFINITY STARS if I could!

She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.

Renee's Review

Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren is a temperature raising book! I had the pleasure of listening to this by audiobook. If you haven't had a chance to actually listen to one of their books, let me tell you ladies, YOU are missing out. This book had a lot of dirty rowdy moments going on, and in audio, you get all emphasis' in the right places, the moans are actual moans. This book comes alive, right there in your ears.

You get to met the two main characters in Sweet Filthy Boy, where they meet in Vegas, married and divorced 12 hours later.  They never really get along, and their banter is so much fun, but they still have magnetic pull towards each other that they just could not deny. This is a story to me, about opposites attract. You know when that guy drives you kinda crazy but their is just something about him you can't get enough.  Well I guess amazing sex will do that to you, and these two explode when they get together.  Christina Lauren has this amazing ability to help you really get into the characters head.  They definitely had me francizing about Finn!

This book was beautifully written and I think we met some new characters that may be able to have their STILL has a plot. This is a  great book. I loved it and as soon as I get a chance, I'm going to listen to it again and this time savor it!

I give Dirty Rowdy Boy by Christina Lauren 5 platypires
