SYNOPSIS:

Picture
“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

REVIEW:

WRECKED!!! Titled correctly, that is what I felt like when I finished this book. My feelings where running so high after I finished WRECKED, at 1 o’clock in the morning, that I had to call a friend to cry it out. Hunter and Lorrie take you on a journey of friendship towards love but OH MY GOODNESS!!!

At first, I thought WRECKED was just going to be another one of those love stories but, boy, was I wrong. The first chapter or two has a sense of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, whom I love, and I really am always looking for something more unique than the same old same old. So, I admit that I thought “here we go again” and then I realized that I had been reading for more than a couple of hours and I was almost at the end and it is NOTHING like Beautiful Disaster and I am crying like a huge baby. DO you see where I am going….I WAS WRECKED!!!! COMPLETELY WRECKED and it ended and I am crying in my pillow...NO NO NO….

So, with all that said. Hunter is a hunky MMA fighter/student with a secret and Lorrie is a student with a very broken past. No Spoilers… and I know it sounds like every other love story but it is NOT!!!  Oh and the ending???!!!! The good news is that after stalking, I mean researching the series, the next book RESCUED by Ms. West will be out February 24, 2014. This is a series that I highly recommend…

WRECKED by Priscilla West receives 5 out of 5 Platypires for surprising me and making me cry!!!

REVIEW:

Words with Fiends is a short, CREEPY, at times funny, story by Matt Schiariti. I went to bed with this little treasure. BAD IDEA!!! I am not a huge horror fan but I must say that Mr. Schiariti can scare me anytime. I loved this story. Well written, characters were fully developed and it had the scary factor. I always can tell if the story is good if the next day I am still thinking about it. This is one of those little goodies that stay with you. I have talked about it all day and I swear I did not want to even look at the beeping of my phone today. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Schiariti .

REVIEW:

The novella, ALL OVER YOU, was published after Devoured, which is the first book in the Devoured Series, by Emily Snow. Even though it was released after Devoured, I would suggest reading it first.  Written at times from both points of view, the first encounter of the couple happens two years before the beginning of Devoured. ALL OVER YOU is the first taste of Lucas and Sienna, and boy, is it good.

ALL OVER YOU is the perfect novella. It captured me and made me want so much more of Lucas and Sienna’s story.  Lucas is a Rock God and is use to having everything his own way until Sienna.  Sienna is sweet and not willing to just give into the Rock God.  A must read!!!  I one-clicked ALL OVER YOU and could not one-click DEVOURED fast enough.   A great little lead in story.

ALL OVER YOU gets  5 out of 5 Platypires for making me crave more.  Texas Hugs and Happy Reading!!!

REVIEWS:

Since I have never read anything by Laila Blake before, I was excited to read Driftwood Deeds and discover a new author.  I have to say that I enjoyed Laila Blake’s descriptive style of writing. Her characters are more natural and “true to life” based. It was a nice change from the  “beyond beautiful” characters that I always read about.  Don’t get me wrong, Paul and Iris are pretty, just not all rock hard, perfect body, pretty. Paul and Iris’s beauty was described as real and uncluttered.

I really liked Paul. I mean, I really liked him.  Watching him through Iris’s point of view was a fun experience.  He was engulfed in character traits that I found attractive. Their communication with each other was comforting.

The story was good but was a little choppy in the beginning and first few chapters.    Also, a significant moment in the story line is based around a movie and although I understood the reference, if you have not seen the movie, one would be lost.   The movie reference needed to be explained a little more for anyone that had not seen it. Also, the pet references were justified but a little extreme for my tastes.

Driftwood Deeds was a fast and enjoyable read. In the short time with Paul and Iris, I felt connected. Being erotica fiction, the sex was hot but based on a consensual BDSM relationship. The novella left no cliff hangers and was a complete standalone story. I look forward to reading more from Laila Blake.

NOCTURNES by Kendall Grey

Synopsis:

Picture
NOCTURNES contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.

WARNING: NOCTURNES addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.

Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.

And he’s no good. For anyone.

After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they’ve had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.

Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn’t abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.

She’s perfect in every way.

Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future…

Review:

HOLY PLATYPIRE!!!! RAX and EVE!!!! Oh My Goodness!! Oh My Goodness!!

Where the heck do I start? I love, love, love this book.  I also have a huge fan girl crush on Kendall Grey!!! NOCTURNES  is the third book in the Hard Rock Harlots Book Series.  All 3 books are stand alone but to really understand all the little insights I suggest you start at the beginning with STRINGS and then Beats .  Then you will have a true hatred for Rax and trust me you will hate him. However, the line between Love and Hate is extremely thin.

Rax is lost, without friends, drinks ways too much, truly a troubled soul and a little obsessed with Eve, who cannot even remember his name.  Eve is a survivor but not really living unless she is up on the pole. Kendall Grey takes Rax and Eve on a soul searching journey towards love of each other and forgiveness of self.

I waited for the book just like all the others and was so hesitate to read it because of my dislike of Rax but in the end I can say I love him so much. It punched me in the gut on how I just wanted save him from himself. That is why  NOCTURNES  rocks.  Kendall Grey‘s characters are raw, gritty and real. You can feel their pain and sorrow and want to save them. Now that is good writing.

NOCTURNES  is erotica fiction. So with that being said, let’s talk about sex. Kendall Grey does not pull any punches. This is not your grandmother’s romance novel.  Be prepared for “THE SCENE”. You will know it when you get to it and it is possible, I googled it.

NOCTURNES  gets the full 5 out of 5 Platyires .  It is a one-click must!!!! Texas Hugs and Happy Reading!!!
