SYNOPSIS:

Sawyer says…
Casual flings are the only way to go.
Everyone you trust eventually leaves.
Falling in love is for anyone, but her.
What else would she say when all she knows is loss and abandonment? Sawyer Sterling learned too young that depending on anyone else will get her nothing but heartache in the end. Never shying away from outwardly showing her love, she struggles accepting it herself. Stubbornly, she vows to never risk her heart.
Dealing with revelations she never saw coming, her impulse is to distance herself from emotional entanglements. When her past collides with her present, can Jared Keller help prove to her just how wrong her assumptions are? He is the exception to her argument that everyone leaves. Will she ever see him as something she deserves?

MEL's REVIEW
SAWYER SAYS by Carey Heywood
*A copy was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review
SAWYER SAYS by Carey Heywood is a standalone companion novel to HER, taking place right as a certain event happens and follows Sawyer Sterling, the best friend of Sara Miller. I loved Sawyer in HER so I was excited to read more of why she does what she does.
Let me just say that Carey Heywood is a real gem and her writing is honest and raw. Yes, there are some hot scenes and Jared is a doll, patient and kind but how Sawyer deals with all the findings out about her life is the real treasure. This is a story about self discovery and how not everything that you think to be true really is. We never know the motives of why someone does what they do until we understand that person. Views of a situation can sometimes be wrong and then we all have to turn inward to fix what we broke ourselves.
This is not a boy meets girl romance. This is a story of self discovery that just happens to contain a love story. I would highly recommend SAWYER SAYS and really anything Carey Heywood writes.
SAWYER SAYS by Carey Heywood receives 4 out of 5 Platypires.
