I really did enjoy this story and couldn't put it down. I just have to downgrade a star due to the formatting of this book. After reading previous reviews I am not the first one to mention it so I really surprised it hasn't been fixed. When a book is not properly formatted or edited it takes away from the story. I constantly had to stop so I could regroup and now where I was at in the story. Which really sucks because like I mention earlier this was a good story.
Now all that being said I am a big fan of nerdy romances. I just want more. Plus add in the diversity and I was in for a great ride. Tessa and Adam were just so adorable together and they also had a lot of passion. Yeah nerdy couple like to get hot and steamy. LOL.
Overall this was good read and I can't wait to see what Cathy Yardley writes next.

3 1/2 Platypires for #Nerd by Cambria Hebert

I have been seeing this book on Facebook for quite some time. Also the title alone fit the bill for my quest for nerdy books. Yet Nerdy in this book means stereotypical nerd where the heroine, Rimmel, is loner, study hards, and wears thick glasses. So as for any geek cred, she has none. Romeo is also your stereotypical jock, womanizer, rich, good looking and runs the school. The plot reminded me a lot of the movie "She's all that" which is a movie that I liked.
At first I wasn't really feeling this book because of all the stereotypes. I am also not a fan of the "playa" and the "virgin" troupe but Rimmel was a great character to root for. I found her to be intriguing and I wanted to see where her story went. I quickly got sucked in and couldn't put this book down.
Its an easy, fun read and I can't wait to read the sequel.

Synopsis:

Zoe has a great pair of legs, perky boobs, and wears exactly what she needs to show it all off. She works hard for the easy sleazy ‘you only wish you were me’ reputation, burying who she really is—an all-out nerd.

5 Platypires!

I literally one clicked this book based on the title alone. For those who don't know I have been on a quest for nerdy/geeky books but real nerdy books. Meaning the characters had to be wearing their geek flag high. Comic books, sci-fi shows, cosplay, gamers etc... not a book where the person is just socially awkward and is labeled a nerd. Just no!
"How to Date a Nerd" by Cassie Mae fit the bill. It was a cross of "The Summer I Became a Nerd" by Leah Rae Miller but written in the style of Kody Keplinger. I devoured this book all in one sitting. Going to high school and being a geek is really hard so I understood where Zoe was coming from. I didn't like the fact that she cared so much what other people thought about her but then again there wouldn't be a book if she was more confident. I also adored Zak and thought he was a great nerdy male lead. Great book boyfriend material.
This book scores major points for all the geeky references and I can't wait to read more from Cassie Mae. I already bought the next book in the How to series.

I would recommend this book for all those nerdy, geeky readers.

About ME!

I was born a long time ago in a hospital in Houston At least that's the story that was told to me. I can't recall these details so I can't say with 100% accuracy that its true.

Fast forward some years and I'm an adult women who has a passion for reading. Some might say its unhealthy. Those people suck and should burn in fiery pit. My passion for reading lead me into running the best book club in Houston. I also like to attend author signings. I don't consider that stalking if the author advertised the event. Now when I'm outside their window that might be another story but lets not get into semantics. .

I enjoy reading a lot of different genres from traditionally and indie published books. I don't go out of my way to check how a book was published. If the book captures my interest then that is good enough for me to read. Now that being said I will review books in the genres below:

Romance- contemporary, historical, and new adult, erotica
YA: Paranormal, dystopian, contemporary,
Adult fiction: women lit, historical fiction, comedy,
sci fi- apocalyptic, hard science fiction, and space opera.
Fantasy: contemporary, urban, dark, fairy tales,
Horror:
Vampire, werewolf, and zombies.

I won't read : religious, true crime or fiction crime, action dealing with spy, western, military.
