Synopsis

Dante can swim. Ari can't. Dante is articulate and self-assured. Ari has a hard time with words and suffers from self-doubt. Dante gets lost in poetry and art. Ari gets lost in thoughts of his older brother who is in prison. Dante is fair skinned. Ari's features are much darker. It seems that a boy like Dante, with his open and unique perspective on life, would be the last person to break down the walls that Ari has built around himself.

But against all odds, when Ari and Dante meet, they develop a special bond that will teach them the most important truths of their lives, and help define the people they want to be. But there are big hurdles in their way, and only by believing in each other―and the power of their friendship―can Ari and Dante emerge stronger on the other side.

This book has been on my radar for quite some time. I just always put it on the back burner and plus the library wait was too long. Then, the author was set to attend a teen book con here in my city. I decided this was my time to get a copy and better yet, a signed copy from the author.
I am so glad I bought the book and had a chance to actually read it. I thought it was really well written. I related to the character and their journey to find themselves. I liked how the Mexican culture was presented and it wasn't stereotypical at all.
I believe this a really good read for young people and older people alike.

About ME!

I was born a long time ago in a hospital in Houston At least that's the story that was told to me. I can't recall these details so I can't say with 100% accuracy that its true.

Fast forward some years and I'm an adult women who has a passion for reading. Some might say its unhealthy. Those people suck and should burn in fiery pit. My passion for reading lead me into running the best book club in Houston. I also like to attend author signings. I don't consider that stalking if the author advertised the event. Now when I'm outside their window that might be another story but lets not get into semantics. .

I enjoy reading a lot of different genres from traditionally and indie published books. I don't go out of my way to check how a book was published. If the book captures my interest then that is good enough for me to read. Now that being said I will review books in the genres below:

Romance- contemporary, historical, and new adult, erotica
YA: Paranormal, dystopian, contemporary,
Adult fiction: women lit, historical fiction, comedy,
sci fi- apocalyptic, hard science fiction, and space opera.
Fantasy: contemporary, urban, dark, fairy tales,
Horror:
Vampire, werewolf, and zombies.

I won't read : religious, true crime or fiction crime, action dealing with spy, western, military.
