My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3 1/2 Platypires for The Antagonist by Burgandi Rakoska.
“I mean,” Minnie continued, “I don’t have a problem with anyone who has a disability and wants to find a cure. But I’m good.” “Don’t you get it?” Flexis argued, “I’m giving you the chance to be normal!” “Your definition of normal severely contradicts mine,” Minnie quietly said
I've heard about this book for quite some time due to its success on Tumblr. Immediately I was intrigued due to the diversity and subject matter. Seriously, when have you read a book about a black female hero in a wheelchair. Really great set up.
This was a really quick read and I think most people would enjoy it. Even though the characters are adults it does read like a YA novel. The dialogue at times was quite silly and some of the scenes were over the top.
Overall, I did enjoy it and plan on reading the next book in the series.
